All of our in-house EPS scraps and excess trim are reused in our manufacturing process. We also accept clean, recyclable EPS from our customers as well as from the public. Rather than see it go to a landfill, these EPS remnants go through the grinder while beads and dust particles are separated. The beads are then reincorporated into the EPS production process to make more EPS blocks.
Expanded polystyrene packaging is a smart, safe, and sustainable cushioning that is lightweight and reduces the damage rate with translates to a wide range of positive sustainability factors. The material can be recycled into a product of equal value or up-cycled to a product of higher value.
Expanded polystyrene is made out of 98% air and has a basic chemical makeup that consists of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygenâelements that are found in wood and other organic materials. Making the entire composition an inert material without harmful chemicals that off-gas or leach throughout its lifecycle.
How safe are these packaging materials with the environment?
We consistently evaluate the package performance and environmental impact of our products throughout its lifecycle. Expanded polystyrene packaging is a smart, safe, and sustainable cushioning that is lightweight and reduces the damage rate with translates to a wide range of positive sustainability factors. The material can be recycled into a product of equal value or up-cycled to a product of higher value.
We recycle 100% of all waste produced during manufacturing by grinding the leftover scrap and mixing it with the raw material to produce a lower grade material that can be used for various applications. Though there are various recycling programs being followed in the industry, all of which demonstrate a strong commitment to the environment along with best business practices, we are committed to the fundamental goal of approaching a realistic solution on implementing a recycling program that is based on a sound economic and environmental considerations.
